REIKI means - Universal life force. It is a Japanese word of two parts. - 'Rei' meaning universal and 'Ki' meaning life force or energy. It is gentle, harmless, natural healing energy which helps you balance your energy levels.

Reiki induces deep relaxation thereby helping your body to heal itself. If you are drained of energy Reiki will revive you. It is not religious it is totally nondenominational. You can practice any religion or none and still use and benefit from Reiki. Anyone can learn Reiki. Reiki cannot be learned from a book or by instruction alone. To be able to receive Reiki students go through a special initiation that attunes them to the energy. This energy is increased with practice and by self healing. Someone who gives Reiki healing will have been attuned to 1 of 3 levels.
Reiki 1 and 2
Reiki 3 and 4
During Reiki 1 you receive four attunements. You will learn a brief history of Reiki, the Reiki Principles, hand positions for self healing and treating others. During Reiki 2 you will receive two further attunements. You will learn about three of the Reiki Symbols and how these can be used for mental, emotional and distance healing.
During Reiki 3 you receive an attunement to the Reiki Master symbol. A Reiki Master understands that the word "Master" is about mastering oneself. You are given the tools to empower yourself but what you do with them and how you help others is up to you. During Reiki 4 you learn how to attune others as Reiki Master Teacher.
